Ongoing NOMAR Committees

Vital to the Association's operation and innovation are our task groups. Listed below are ongoing committees. Members are invited to volunteer for any of these, especially those members who have some ideas or special expertise to contribute.

2005 Committees

Affiliates
To create and plan programs and opportunities for REALTOR® networking and exposure.
 
Affordable Housing
To establish and support affordable housing and development projects.
 
Awards and Recognition
To recommend any policy or procedure changes which relate to the Million Dollar Awards, and to plan the Annual Awards ceremony.
Budget and Finance
To budget the income of the Association on an annual basis, to control the finances of the Association; to examine from time to time, with the assistance of an auditor, the accounts of the Association; and to control the insuring of the property of the Association. All expenditures must be referred to this Committee and approved by its Chairman
 
Charter and Bylaws
To review the Bylaws as needed and submit any recommended revisions to the Board of Directors.
 
Education
To develop and implement Continuing Education programs of the highest quality for the membership in the most effective manner.
 
Forms
To review all Standard Forms annually. New/Revised forms must be reviewed and accepted by legal counsel and approved by the Board of Directors.
 
Governmental Affairs
To monitor legislation effecting the real estate industry.
 
Grievance
To receive Ethics Complaints and Requests for Arbitration and to determine if, taken as true on their face a Hearing is warranted.
 
Multiple Listing Service Advisory
To recommend rules and regulations to GSREIN, which will outline the operating procedures of the MLS, a facility whereby information concerning individual listings can be made known to all REALTORS® who participate in the service.
 
Professional Standards
To provide a forum for the Hearing of all complaints and Requests for Arbitration in accordance with the Code of Ethics and Arbitration Manual. Members must first serve a minimum of three years on the Grievance Committee.
 
Special Events Task Forces
To plan and implement all special projects, including but not limited to the Annual Bowling Tournament, the REALTORS® Day Off, and the Annual fundraiser, to issue invitations to all Association functions to LRA and LREC in order to provide better working relationships.
Other Committees and Task Forces
The President, at his/her discretion, appoint additional Committees and/or Task Forces as needed.
