Elections

During every election cycle, the New Orleans Metropolitan Political Advisory Team (NOMPAT), a committee of NOMAR and LARPAC, takes the time to carefully interview candidates running for office, as well as review all local ballot measures. NOMAR endorses candidates who they feel are REALTOR® Party Champions. These candidates either have proven themselves as champions of REALTOR® issues as incumbents, or are new candidates who show potential to become our champions through their willingness to work with NOMAR on issues affecting housing and private property rights. NOMAR will also often recommend that its REALTOR® members either support or oppose local ballot measures that have a direct impact on housing and private property rights.

Mayor – Desiree Charbonnet

Desiree Charbonnet has the vision, plan, and experience to be a great Mayor for New Orleans. As a Recorder of Mortgages, she grew to understand the ins and outs of the real estate industry. As a judge, she gained a reputation as someone who is thorough, conscientious, and fair. As a candidate for Mayor, she has pledged to work with all stake holders on the important issues facing the city and she has demonstrated a willingness to listen to all sides of a policy proposal or important issue in order to make an informed decision on what is right for the people of New Orleans. Her inclusion of both the for-profit and non-profit organizations on affordable housing issues is exactly the approach the citizens of this city need and NOMAR is proud to support Desiree Charbonnet for Mayor.

Council District B – Seth Bloom

Seth Bloom is a proven leader with great ideas to help move New Orleans forward. He will be a great representative of District B and we are happy to support him in the runoff.

Council District E – James A. Gray, II

Councilman Gray is a true leader, a friend to REALTORS®, and is always willing to go the extra mile to make his district and the City the best they can be. We are proud to support his reelection.
