Live Classes, Events, Hearings & Non-essential Meetings Postponed until June 30 

Out of an abundance of caution, and in accordance with recommended guidelines and procedures, NOMAR will be postponing all live classes, events, professional standards hearings and non-essential meetings until June 30, 2020. NOMAR is making the safety of its members and staff a priority.

Lockbox Hotline and Procedure for obtaining a box or key on your phone 

Our staff continues to work our normal hours Monday – Friday and we are available to assist you. Call 504-885-3200 and our receptionist will greet you and assure that you reach the appropriate staff person. 

Metairie hours of assistance: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Mandeville hours of assistance: 9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

We have a dropbox in Metairie on the post by the door to the office. We have a mail slot in the door of the Mandeville office. Both are checked by staff on a regular basis throughout the day.

Out of an abundance of caution, the following electronic key and lockbox procedures have been implemented. The new process makes it quicker and easier for you to obtain a Supra Key on your phone or a Supra lockbox.

Our Lockbox Department is available to issue Lockboxes and answer questions. You may call 504-885-3200 to be transferred or call the direct line to staff shown below. 

Need a SUPRA Lockbox?

Contact the staff first at one of the numbers below so that staff can program your lockbox shackle code over the phone, process your payment and make arrangements for you to pick up your box. 

For the safety of staff, if you are symptomatic for Coronavirus, run a fever, are asymptomatic with a positive result, or have been exposed to Coronavirus please DO NOT come to the office. Staff are following the same guidelines for your protection. Due to popular demand we will continue the drive through lockbox pick-up. There will be no contact and social distancing will be maintained when you pick up your box outside the office. Just press the front door buzzer or call from your car to let us know you have arrived. Your box will be personally delivered to you. Be sure to open your shackle to test it before leaving.

The COVID-19 rescue package passed on Friday contains numerous benefits for REALTORS® that NAR fought hard for during the past three weeks, including unemployment eligibility for the self-employed and independent contractors; unprecedented aid for small businesses; and a delay in business payroll tax payments.

NAR has compiled a comprehensive guide to all benefits for REALTORS® and their customers found in this legislation.

Unbranded Virtual Tour or Video Walk Through to Show Listings

We understand that doing business in these unprecedented times can be difficult. With showings and broker tours being postponed more and more due to the threat of COVID-19, we would like to encourage you to use the option of a virtual tour or video walk through to show your listings. 

If you would like to make your own unbranded video walkthrough and upload it to YouTube, you can then insert the link to the YouTube video into the unbranded virtual tour field. 

**Note- If using a YouTube video, please be sure that the video itself and YouTube channel are completely unbranded. Also, remove the https:// from your link, or the link will not work.

No Showings at Sellers Request and Withdrawn Status Provisions for your sellers

Your seller decides they do not want their property to be shown at this time during the Coronavirus crisis. How do you handle this in Matrix?

You have two options…

Option #1

If your Seller wishes for their property to remain on the market, but does not want showings at this time, the listing agent updates two Matrix fields “Agent’s Remarks” and “Showing Instructions”with the statement “No Showings At Sellers Request”.

Option #2

If your seller wants their property taken off the market you can change the listing status to "Withdrawn". In Matrix when a property is in “W” status, the Days On the Market stops. Keep in mind while in “W” status you cannot market nor show the listing and you or your seller would remove the sign from the yard while the listing is in withdrawn status. 

When the seller is comfortable with showing the property again, the property can be changed back to Active. Watch your expiration dates and get necessary extensions. After the listing expires it cannot be changed back to “Active”.

For your protection you must get written permission from your seller to withdraw the listing and written permission from the seller to put it back on the market. You can use the “Listing Exclusion Form”.

You will not be required to provide them to GSREIN during this time. But keep them for your records. You will be advised when this crisis is lifted and the policy of submitting the Exclusion Form to GSREIN is reinstated.

Governmental Affairs Updates

Independent Contractors, including REALTORS®, Eligible for Unemployment Assistance

The CARES Act legislation includes a provision that provides for a temporary Pandemic Unemployment Assistance program through December 31, 2020. This provides payment to those not traditionally eligible for unemployment benefits, including independent contractors and the self-employed, who are unable to work as a direct result of the coronavirus public health emergency. If you think you may be eligible for this assistance, we recommend that you apply. To apply for unemployment assistance, please visit www.laworks.net. To register, you will need your Social Security number and a valid e-mail address. Until we are notified otherwise, we suggest that you use your broker’s name, address and telephone number for the employer part of the application.

Tips for applying: 

  • Apply online at laworks.net, not over the phone
  • Apply later in the evening/at night when the system is less strained
  • As this provision is new, the state’s system may send you an initial monetary denial. Submit a weekly claim each Sunday so that you can receive benefits once the system is updated.
  • Since you may have to apply a few times, save a separate document with your answers to make it easier to copy and paste them into future applications.
  • The Louisiana Workforce Commission strongly encourages you to select direct deposit as your payment method.  A debit card could take as long as 10 days to be processed, mailed, and received.
